When Dr. Juan Rivera sent me to Korea to discover the beauty secrets of Korean women, I went with so much excitement. To me, they have some of the most beautiful skin I've ever seen: luminous, carefully tended, like porcelain. I would look at them and think: "Please, tell me what you use on your skin."
I was convinced I'd come back from Korea with a miracle cream. But at one of the places where I went for an aesthetic treatment, something unexpected happened: the esthetician started talking to me about a product for liver health. "The liver?" I thought. I was expecting her to offer me an innovative serum or a mask capable of working magic on my skin! That conversation made me see something that kept coming up all over Korea: for them, caring for the skin from the inside is just as important as caring for it on the outside.
Korean marine collagen: a staple of the Korean routine
In my search for Korean beauty secrets, I also discovered how present marine collagen is in their daily routines — to support skin firmness and elasticity and help with the appearance of wrinkles and sagging. That's why Dr. Juan and I decided to include marine collagen of Korean origin in K-Bella Collagen. (See study)
Tremella: the beauty mushroom
We also added another ingredient present in Asian beauty rituals: Tremella, known as the beauty mushroom. Its fame goes back centuries. According to tradition, Yang Guifei — an imperial consort of ancient China remembered for her extraordinary beauty — consumed Tremella as part of her ritual. Over time, its compounds were studied, and scientists discovered its remarkable capacity to retain water, which helps skin look more plump and luminous. (See study)
VERISOL®: designed with Latinas in mind
But we wanted this formula to also address the specific needs of us Latinas — including something many of you ask me about: cellulite. That's why Dr. Juan incorporated VERISOL®, collagen peptides that have been extensively studied clinically for their effect on reducing the appearance of cellulite and wrinkles. (See study)
How K-Bella Collagen was born
Thanks to everything I discovered on that trip, we developed K-Bella Collagen — a Korean collagen formula created especially for Latinas. The "K" is a nod to Korea, where my search began, and "K-Bella" sounds like something I love to say to all of you: "¡Qué bella!" — how beautiful you are.
Every one of us deserves to feel good in our skin, at any age. If this article inspired you to start your own beauty ritual from the inside out, then my trip to Korea was worth every single minute.
