Is your period almost here? A drink for those moody days

¿Periodo a punto de llegar? Tip para esos complicados días

If you were to do a survey on one thing all women would agree to change about the female physiology, it would most likely be eliminating the menstrual cycle. Although for some a monthly period causes no major discomfort, for others it is the most uncomfortable and painful time of the month. After the mood swings and surprise pimples, there are also physical pains and cramps – without mentioning the emotional toll and lack of energy to do usual activities. But now you can relax! We know how you feel, and we also know how to help alleviate those symptoms. This comfort drink will be your best beverage go-to during the trickier days of the month.

Ingredients:

Directions:

Pour the water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add the parsley sprigs and allow to boil for a few minutes. Transfer the hot water to a cup and add the contents of the ginseng capsule, the calcium tablet, and the bag of passionflower tea.

Cover the cup with a saucer to allow the drink to infuse while the calcium tablet dissolves completely (about ten minutes). You can even grind up the calcium tablet if you prefer, adding it to the tea in a powder form. Top with stevia to sweeten, and your drink is ready to enjoy!

What is this drink good for?

  • Studies show benefits and medicinal properties for passionflower in the treatment of anxiety, as well as using it as an analgesic and relaxant. Passionflower has also been shown to relieve some symptoms of menopause, like depression. (1)

  • Parsley can be used as an anti-inflammatory treatment and for menstruation disorders, such as amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea, as well as to alleviate urinary diseases based on research. (2)

  • Ginseng is one of the most popular natural supplements in the world. In addition to being used for the treatment and prevention of many ailments, it is used to help increase stamina and physical endurance, making it the ideal supplement for difficult days when energy is diminished. (3)

  • Research reveals that premenstrual disorders affect up to 12 percent of women. This includes premenstrual syndrome with psychological and physical symptoms that disappear after the end of each period. Recommendations to alleviate these discomforts include calcium supplements. (4)

Make a note in your planner to prepare this drink the next time your menstrual symptoms are about to start and get ahead of them without letting them get ahead of you!

Let's get healthier together.
